Hokey

Scene:  Early afternoon light pours in dining room windows.  Momma is engrossed with the work on her laptop, bursts of typing punctuated by thoughtful pauses.  Little Dog Bucky lays in the sunlight in the front room, behind momma.

 

Big Dog Chunk quietly walks into the dining room.  He starts to softly hum a catchy tune while staring at M, twitching his ears.

LDB's ears start twitching in time to BDC's song.  He gets up, stretches, and stands by BDC, ears still twitching in time. M subconsciously hums along softly.

Everyone is now humming the same tune.  Momma types.  The dogs put their left paw in, they put their left paw out.  They put their left paw in and they shake it all about...

LDB and BDC (loudly, in unison, while dancing in a circle): ...And that's what it's all about!

M (turns to look at the dogs): Right arm!

M gets up and dances with the dogs for a few minutes until a little winded.

M (hugging the dogs): Whoo! That was fun! Thanks babies!  *sigh* Back to work...

BDC: Uh, Momma?

M: Yes, Chunk Chunk?

BDC:  You don't HAVE to go back to work just yet, do you?

M: Hm, what do you have in mind?

BDC: Well, all that dancing kinda put me in a walka mood...

LDB: Walk!?!

LDB Looks hopefully at M, wiggling his stump of a tail. BDC wags his tail and pleadingly stares at M.

M: You know what? That's a great idea.  I'm stuck on this stuff right now anyway. Let's go!

M grabs her coat, while the dogs grab their leashes.

All exit the front door, still humming.
